Nothing like adding a little sparkle to my step

Are diamonds really a girls’ best friend? After viewing the FireCushion Diamond, I would have to say YES!! They absolutely are. I was invited by Devon Fine Jewelry in Wyckoff, New Jersey to come experience first hand the gorgeous FireCushion diamonds. Jason, the director of sales at Devon, walked me through the entire collection and explained how unique this cut truly is. Nothing like ogling over these precious stones to make my week shine. After viewing, it was apparent this company is candidly worth shouting about. I have always been a girl that likes to go against the grain and try something new and unique. Whether that is a fashion trend, vacation spot, or learning about a state of the art technique in diamonds. The special way that FireCushion diamonds are cut increases brilliance and are bursting with light, WOWZA. These precious stones are lighter in weight, while getting a distinct size advantage with no sacrifice in brilliance. I mean who does not want that! I’m also a girl that likes to get more bang for her buck!

Wearing diamonds has come a very long way. Years ago, people would break them out like their fine china, only on special occasions. Recently, one does not need be afraid of sportn’ your bling, day or night. You can certainly wear your diamond necklace with not only your cocktail dress but also your jeans. Today, it’s completely acceptable to wear diamond studs daily. Mine barely come out of my ears’ lobes. I choose to wear them straight from my gym clothes to my daytime ensemble, right into an evening dress.

Studs, that I wear daily

Studs, that I wear daily

Diamonds in aeon pasts were mostly spotted being worn by socialites, nighttime soap stars, and of course Ms. Joan Collins. Now more then ever, women are donning their sparklers with the popularity of “push gifts”, anniversary rings, and heirloom pieces handed down from the generation past. People are choosing to not lock up their heirlooms, but wear them with pride. Lets face it, choosing your engagement has become just as important as choosing the man popping the question, well not really but close (wink).

Diamonds are always going to be a well thought out purchase. Take your time deciding the right piece that is best suited for you. Whether it’s an eternity ring, pendant necklace, studs, or watch en-crusted in stones on the bazel selected, one that will be timeless. These are special pieces that should be treasured.

It was very educational to meet with Jason, as he cialisfrance24.com schooled me on what it really means to have a noble quality stone. I took it for granted when my husband selected my engagement ring and wedding bands. However, I’ve decided to wise up, become an educated consumer, and understand the quality prior to making a purchase. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and understand what the market has to offer. Companies are selling unique shapes such as cushion brilliant. I highly suggest you jump on to www.firecushion.com then find your local retailer, therefore you can appreciate first hand just how cool these gems really are. If local, head over to Devon Jewelers and ask for Jason. He will be happy to assist you in showing the collection.

Spring 2016 Accessories Trends- Bloomingdales Event

Ohhhh it’s that time of year again…I have a bounce in my step. The weather is getting warmer, landscape getting greener, and accessories getting brighter. As many events sneakily approach (Easter, Prom, Weddings, Parties), you’re probably wondering, “what type of accessories should I wear with my outfit?” My latest blog installment is to help give you a couple of ideas that can catapult even your simplest outfit. There are a few spring accessory trends that stand out to me, which I certainly will share with you. Try one or more of my ideas, as you will be the talk of the party wearing these very stylish accessories.

My top six must have accessories for the 2016 Spring Season:

The Choker

Jules Smith Americana Choker Necklace, Bloomingdales

Jules Smith Americana Choker Necklace, Bloomingdales

Once again this 90’s statement, which made a warm welcome last season, returns in full force. I am sure by now you have seen your favorite blogger, model or next-door teenage neighbor sport’n one. The choker adds a bit of edge to even the simplest outfit. Try one on, I promise it will give you a fashion forward boost. This is a bold piece so keep all other accessories to a minimum.

The Statement Earring (aka the duster)

AQUA Antonia Fringe Teardrop Earrings, Bloomingdales

AQUA Antonia Fringe Teardrop Earrings, Bloomingdales

Put away those large statement necklaces (just for this season) and try the sister version, the large and in charge earring. Street stars and high gloss fashion magazines have declared this the must have accessory. My motto “go big or go home” is perfectly appropriate here. This style is large enough to just sweep the shoulder, creating a rather bold and elegant look. Joan Collins would be super proud. Again, this look is daring so keep your décolletage bare and try it with your hair pulled into a chignon.

The Suede Bag
With the 70’s retro still being channeled, it’s no surprise that one will see suede bags in all shapes and sizes. You will notice more of an elegant design with softer skins more prevalent on the streets and in retail stores. Pair it with your boho dress and this season hot mule wedge sandal for a fresh spring look.

The All White Handbag

Milly Astor Tassel Backpack , Bloomingdales

The color white is a huge hue for this season. I am finding it incredibly irresistible and a must have in my very own closet. Carrying an all blanco bag is super chic and white hot (pun intended) for spring. Months ago, I spoke to you about the “Black Out”, the all-back outfit. This season I highly recommend you venture the “White Out”. Try wearing various shades from head to toe. Too bold for your zip code? Rather adorn this look at your next spring break vacation resort, I promise you will feel completely on style point.

Clear Intentions

Alexis Bittar Lucite Mirrored Crescent Hinge Cuff, Bloomingdales

Life Wearing Plastic Could Be Fantastic (well at least for this season). Designers this season have stepped forward with key pieces ranging in Lucite clutches, transparent earrings that glisten, straight up plastic heels and clear frames on sunglasses. This trend, however you choose to wear, will make you feel glamorous without feeling weighty or overdone. Sensing you want to hang up your “classic in your comfort zone” look? Try incorporating a clear piece into your style statement; it will give you a modern and fresh new approach to the season.

The Sneaker Freak
Once again, the athletic kick has found the center spotlight as this season hottest trend. After recently visiting Milano for work, I have never seen a sea of women, of all ages, donning the all white sport shoe paired with denim, skirts and dresses. Not gonna lie, I loved how one woman was wearing her skater skirt, white tank and denim jacket with her Adidas Stan Smiths. I literally could not wait to cross the pond and run to the nearest store to purchase these old school classics that have made a major return. Bonus, sport’n your all white sneakers is not only trend forward but super comfortable and this is coming from a woman who has switched her “lip and a heel” for her super chic classic “sneakers”.

I’d like to give a big thanks to Jessica, Nicole and the Bloomingdales accessory team for providing such an amazing event on March 12th at the Shops at Riverside Square Mall, NJ. Helping individuals with accessories to enhance their style is a true pleasure, especially having such an excellent assisting team beside me. I hope I have intrigued you in thinking outside of the box with these spring trends and confidently wear these remarkable pieces of garnishes. For those that came up to get style tip from moi, I was sincerely honored to work with each and every one of you. Nothing makes me happier knowing that I have inspired you. Empowering YOU makes me beyond happy.

How to wear fur (real and faux)

I have a fashion secret…I cannot walk passed a fur jacket or accessory in a store and NOT have a gravitational pull directly towards that particular piece. I literally stop in my tracks to touch, try it on, and dream that it could be sitting in my own wardrobe ASAP. Fur coats are not just for the ladies that lunch. Jackets and coats both real fur and faux are showing up in outfits in every style, shape and form. Off duty runway darlings’ particularly favor fur, along with fashion bloggers and street style stars.

Fur coats have come a very long way from the 40’s when starlets would don a fox stole with the head still attached (gross). Or a trend equally horrid, in my opinion, the long mink coat paired with white reeboks by the female New York finance professional in the 80′s (bad). Fast forward to today, where designers have incorporated both real and faux furs into their lines with a modern and sophisticated twist. Not only is it super chic, but also the true fact is fur keeps you warm especially if you live in cold weather climates. New York City can get be blustery in February, I know first hand.

Here are a number of ways how you can rock the fur trend and look on fashion https://www.viagrapascherfr.com/pilule-type-viagra/ point:

Fur vest over a blazer
A favorite of mine. This is such an easy way to add chicness instantly. Take a stab at pairing your fun fur vest over a simple blazer. Either can be done over a business suit to add a little pizzazz to the 9-5 or with denim/blazer combo for a hip Saturday brunch with friends.

Copycat a fashion blogger
Jump onto Pinterest or any social media site and you will see a multitude of street style darlings sportn’ simple t-shirts, distressed jeans, converse sneakers and an oversize shag fur. Mixing cotton, denim, a bright gloss, a messy bun and a fur has become on fleek. Try it, I did and felt just as chic and hip as an off duty model (well without their sky high legs of course).

Think outside of the typical color waive
Sure, Halston made the white fur a must have in the 60′s but as of recent, designers have incorporated a rainbow of hues into their collections. You cannot walk into a boutique or department store without spotting faux or real fur in bold colors and even pastels.

Hat J Crew, Sunnies Marc Jacob, Necklace Stella & Dot, Dress Twelfth Street by, Cynthia Vincent, Fur BCBG, Over the knee Steve, Madden boots

Fur as a layering piece
Try a vest over a tunic dress paired with a high shaft boot for a bohemian feel. Or challenge yourself with a long maxi dress added with a cropped less bulky fur like rabbit or faux shearling to create a stylish look during the afternoon hours.

Earrings Vintage, Shirt BCBG, Fur Neiman Marcus, Pants Rock & Republic, Boots Maumero

Head to a consignment shop and find a vintage fur
It’s easier on the wallet and you can add a new satin liner, belting a stole or taking your new piece to the cleaners for them to modernize the lines with a nip and a tuck. I enjoy whipping out my Grammy’s piece for a bit of old school glamour.

I would like to give a huge shout out to MLFurs, Denver’s most trusted furrier since the 1950′s. If you love fur like moi, I highly recommend you to check out MLFurs as their philosophy is based on “visualizing not only a fabulous fur, but also how to style and accessorize a look” (get the best of both worlds). Their fabulous furs are top-notch, must have items in your closet with a wide selection of stylish jackets and coats. The designs MLFurs provides are extremely sophisticated originating from around the globe to surface in every woman’s closet. You’d be crazy to pass up the deals they offer. I realize furs can be expensive but like I always say, it’s the cost per wear. And trust me you will get years of wear. The winter is here so jump online, type into your browser mlfurs.com, and truly recognize the elegance fur can impact on your wardrobe (it will be huge trust me) as well as keep you WARM!!!

Bloomingdales Fashion Show and My Favorite Fall Shoe Trends

Oh, I really don’t need another pair”, a declaration that has never been uttered out of my lips. I am a self-proclaimed shoeaholic. I will never forget the day back when I was 20 something years old, living in New York City. I decided to treat myself to my first pair of Jimmy Choos. I knew my bank account would suffer, nevertheless I’m still convinced to this day that the magnificent leather and alligator skin pointy toe sling back pumps whispered “you need me.” I answered softly under my breath, “Um, yes I do.” That was the beginning of my shoe addiction that I still have NOT and will NOT rectify. I know you will all agree there is nothing better then pulling out a new pair of shoes as it puts a bounce in your step and a smile on your face.

When asked by Bloomingdales to host a Fall Shoe Trend Fashion Show, I was beyond thrilled and jumped (pun intended) at the opportunity. As a stylist, I strongly believe in not only reporting the trends, but equally important to explain how you can incorporate each trend into your own personal style.

Here are a couple of my favorite fall shoe trends:

Lace up pumps by Ivanka Trump

Pump with a twist

The cialis 20mg prix pharmacie classic pointy toe pump, made very famous by Sarah Jessica Parker in Sex in the City, made its return in the spring and is continuing into the fall. However, in the fall we see a kicked up version of the pump with designers adding embellishments or beadwork including fabrics like wool tweeds and suede’s. Put your rounded toe pumps away for the season and grab a pointy. These versatile pump elongate your leg and can be worn with everything from day to night and everything in between.

High shaft boot, yes you can!

I know you are all thinking Vivian from Pretty Woman, but I promise these boots, if worn correctly, will make you shine on Rodeo Drive. These high class wonders are making a return from last season. Try shelving your riding boots and dare to be bold with a pair of over the knee boots. A promise you will feel super chic and say why did I not try sooner. Bonus, these boots will keep you extra warm in the very cold weather. To create a long look, pair a boot with same hue skinny jeans or leggings.

Booties with an open toe by Splendid

Ankles booties

A trend started a few years ago is making a larger splash this season. Designers have incorporated many versions into their lines. You will see moto, studded, a hue of colors and peep toes, my motto, “toes unless it snows”. This is the perfect transitional shoe and can be worn causal or dressed. Try kicking your look up a notch with your little black dress or go causal with skinny jeans.

Oxfords platforms by Stuart Weitzman

Oxfords

This shoe trend is without a doubt borrowing from the boys. A style associated with British students or your grandpas shoes. However, as of late, bloggers, style editors and street stars traded in their heels to don a pair. You will see them in a stacked heel version or contrasting

hue in a lugged sole. Balance is key here, to offset masculinity pair with feminine dress, full skirts, a pencil skirt or bow blouse.

Athletic slip ons with studs from Coach

The athletic slip on

Every woman needs a break from their rock’n high heels, your back will thank you for it. This style is also one that moved from Spring into Fall. You don’t need to sport these with just your workout clothes. This season they were featured on the runway with everything including denim, skater skirts and causal LBD’s, aka the little black dress.

I am beyond excited, peeing in my fashionable pants (really) to announce my recent collaboration with Northern New Jersey Bloomingdales. They hired me as a style expert for upcoming in store events. The first, Bubbles and Baubles was on September 19th to showcase this season’s top accessories. I was thrilled to be on hand, lending my style opinion to clients in completing their new fall look with an on trend jewelry piece, sunnies or new fabo handbag. It was thrilling to hear as I helped guide clients through this seasons keys pieces, “I love it Candace, thank you for your help”. Working alongside the very talented team at Bloomingdales was an added bonus. Come find me at my next event on October 3rd, in Bloomingdales at the Shops at Riverside, in Hackensack, New Jersey.

When it comes to accessories, I am a bit obsessed. My motto is “one can never have enough.” I believe baubles are the final paint touches on an art canvas. Add an ornate necklace, chunky ring or piling on a stack of bracelets to a simple outfit, will transform your ensemble from drab to fab instantly. Balance is key, select one place to make your statement, whether its in your ear, arm or neck, keep all other pieces uncomplicated.

Fringe Factor:

This is a trend that pretty much anyone can rock. One can easily include this look into their wardrobe. It’s fabulous on accessories such as scarves, handbags, shoes and even a necklace. Needless to say, you can wear this free-spirited look just about anywhere, and it’s easier than you think! I adore my nude fringe sandals by Steve Madden. They are like wearing a party on my feet and totally make me feel trend forward when paired with either distressed denim or simple black dress. A word to the fashion wise, do not don more then one fringe piece at a time (yikes).

Single Earring:

This is a statement for the bold at heart. I will tell you from experience people shall ask, “I think you might have lost an earring.” You clamor back, no, I just want to try this seasons new one earring trend!” This is the perfect time to retrieve your single earring that you lost the match too in the back of your jewelry box. The single statement earrings can be worn in all shapes and sizes. However, what captures the most attention is wearing unique earrings that are large and attention grabbing. Make sure you sport a simple stud in the other ear to ensure your look was achieved vs a mishap.

Chokers are Back:

The choker is making resurgence back from achat cialis discret the 90’s with a contemporary appeal. Ranging from wide edgy silhouettes too subdued and refined. This neck accessory can add glamour and a dose of edge to any look. They were seen all over the Spring 2015 runways, celebrities and gaining street appeal on bloggers. If you choose to sport this type of neckwear, make sure you keep it to one piece. Now is not the time to add multiple necklaces, overkill.

Pull Out Grammies Brooches:

In recent years, the brooch has felt a bit dippy and might have reminded one of their grandma. They were relegated to the back of the jewelry chest. However, this season they have come back with a vengeance. Grab an oversized piece and pin to this season hottest cape as a fastener. Try pairing multiples on a blazer lapel (I do this with my clients all the time). For the bold, pull your hair in a bun and attach on the side or back for a chic ‘do.
